What's new in «Слышно» - the voice recorder's version history

What's new

The update history of «Слышно». You can see your version in the app: open "Settings" and scroll all the way down.

Version 1.1.96

8 October 2026

Recordings can be merged into one. A stopped transcription is no longer lost, and the "Text" tab opens faster.

  • Merging recordings Select two or more recordings and tap "Merge": you get one combined recording, and the order of the parts can be changed with the arrows. The transcript and bookmarks move along with the audio, a bookmark is placed at every joint, and the original recordings can be kept or deleted.
  • A long transcription keeps what is done If you stop the transcription or it breaks off on its own, the finished part is kept, and the "Continue transcription" button picks up from the same place. Transcribing a long recording shows its progress in a notification and carries on while the app is minimized.
  • The "Text" tab opens faster Cards with long transcripts no longer slow the phone down: the preview shows only the beginning of the text, and the whole text opens with a tap.

Version 1.1.82

3 October 2026

The transcript shows up right away, without waiting for the splitting to finish. An hour of talk no longer crashes the app, and a note reads in one piece.

  • Text arrives while the audio is still being split A long recording used to be split into chunks in full first and only then transcribed: an hour of conversation on a modest phone meant minutes of the word "Transcription" without a single word of text. Now the first words show up within seconds, and an interrupted transcription carries on from where it stopped.
  • An hour of talk no longer crashes the app While a recording was running, the list kept redrawing its cards several times a second, memory grew, and after an hour or two the app closed itself. Now the list is left alone while you record: on an Infinix, a minute and a half of recording holds memory at 24 MB instead of the previous 144.
  • A note reads in one piece The card printed a short name and under it a fragment of the rest, starting where the name was cut off: "Buy bread" and on the next line ". And milk." Now, if the name is simply the beginning of the text, the card shows the text in one piece. A note that is playing shows that it is paused and where you stopped.
  • Search finds only what is in the recording now After you edited a transcript, the recording could still be found by the words you had erased, and a new recording could turn up under the words of a deleted one. Now the index holds exactly the words the recording has now.
  • Clear why transcription is unavailable The reason for the refusal sat in a bar at the bottom, and the Pro window covered it right away: you saw an offer to buy and read the refusal as something broken. Now the reason is the first line in that window: "This recording runs 17:35, recordings up to 10 minutes are transcribed for free" or "You are out of free transcriptions for today".
  • The trial period survives a reinstall A reinstall used to wipe out every trace of the trial period: you saw a "Pro for free" banner and a locked transcription, and only on the button did you find out that the period had already been used. Now the app asks the server and shows your free transcriptions for today right away.
  • Text is split into words again The engine glued almost a whole phrase into one chunk, and because of that everything that relies on separate words stopped working: tapping a word, "Check", quotes, cutting audio by text. The recognition engine itself has been updated along the way, and an unneeded third-party speech synthesis library has left the app.
  • Small but noticeable The app no longer closes when a second finger lands on the list, or when a model has not been downloaded. A screen that is off no longer spends battery on background calculations. The questions come from the app itself, not from a white system dialog. Files from the "Audio" section import on Xiaomi. An activation code error no longer passes itself off as "no connection".

Version 1.1.34

23 September 2026

Transcription no longer loses speech after pauses. "Stop" in the notification shade, a labeled selection bar and saving to files.

  • Transcription no longer loses speech Chunks of up to 24 seconds could go missing from the text - in the speech analysis they looked like a long pause in which someone was actually talking. Now the recording is processed in full, and a chunk the engine stumbled on gets another try.
  • "Stop" right in the notification You can end a recording from the notification shade without opening the app - it lands in the library as usual. The timer in the shade keeps ticking even with the app minimized.
  • Selecting several recordings now spells things out Under every icon on the selection bar - a label: "All", "To text", "Texts", "Folder", "Delete". Selection stays in its own tab, the checkmark is on the left everywhere, and cards leave the screen only after "Delete".
  • Save to files You can save a recording to "Downloads", a memory card or a cloud folder - right from its card.
  • Reminders - for a date Instead of "in a week" - any day in the next four weeks, and the summary always names the date.
  • Deleted stays deleted If you close the app right after deleting, the recording no longer reappears in the list. "Undo" works as long as the app is on screen.
  • Bookmarks show up at every step While recording, the button has a "Bookmark" label under it and answers with "Bookmark 3 · 12:34"; in the player - "Bookmark 2 of 3" with arrows.
  • The microphone check answers in plain words Instead of a table of decibels - a verdict on what is up with the microphone, and the check can be stopped at any moment.
  • Trimming The track has moved in from the screen edges and no longer catches the system "Back" gesture; the handles sit exactly on the edges of the recording.
  • The text improvement model - in the settings Next to the recognition models: you can download it in advance and delete it.
  • Fixed Playback no longer resumes on its own after you minimize the app; switching modes no longer starts a recording; an "uhh" in the speech analysis no longer stretches to 12 seconds; a rare "The app crashed" screen at launch after an interrupted recording; a false "No sound coming in" banner in the first seconds of recording on weak phones.

Version 1.1.0

12 September 2026

The trial period ended - and the app kept working. Plus a whole section for voice notes.

  • When the trial days run out, the app does not lock you out Transcription used to shut down completely once the trial period was over. Now 3 recordings are transcribed and 3 notes dictated free of charge every day - for recordings no longer than 10 minutes. You can see what is left in advance: "Free: 2 of 3". New ones arrive after midnight.
  • Voice notes - a section of their own Say it out loud and it becomes a card with a due date and a reminder. The "Inbox - To do - Done - Archive" states can be renamed, recolored, and you can add your own; there are folders, color tags and search.
  • The record button - at the bottom, under your thumb It has moved into the cut-out in the bottom bar: recording starts with a single tap from anywhere in the list. Holding it picks the mode - "Speech", "Notes", "Nature". You can also start recording from your phone's home screen: with a tile in the notification shade, a widget or a long press on the icon.
  • A library of tens of thousands of recordings The list loads in chunks and no longer vanishes off the screen, the counters count the whole library, and "Go to date" takes you to a recording from last autumn in two taps.
  • Search and filtering rewritten The list shows up right under the search box, with the answer "Found 3 of 87" beside it; the matches are highlighted in the name, the note and the text. Folders, tags, content and favorites come together in a single filter window, and every condition carries a number - how many recordings it will leave.
  • Recordings get names Instead of a date - the first phrase of the transcript; for the nameless ones already piled up there is "Give names". A name you gave yourself is never touched.
  • Nothing gets lost A recording stays intact even if the app was closed in the middle of it. The transcript no longer disappears when you tap the star, notes make it into the backup, and on a new or someone else's phone the app asks "Is this your device?" instead of uploading your library into a stranger's cloud on its own.
  • Russian recognition is 90 MB lighter 215 MB to download instead of 305, with the same quality. The heavy model is now within reach of phones with 3-4 GB of RAM as well.
  • Faster, and easier on the phone Startup no longer depends on the size of the library. The background motion on the home screen is gone for good: the eye could not see it, but the processor was busy with it.

Version 1.0.280

29 August 2026

Transcription is back on older phones, and honest answers instead of "no voice".

  • Transcription works on old phones For a year, on 32-bit devices the app shut down the moment recognition started. The cause turned out to be a third-party library, not the phone itself: once it was updated, transcription worked there too. Tested on a Doogee X5pro (2 GB of RAM, Android 8.1) and an SM-T800 tablet - both recognition and AI text editing work.
  • If the engine could not start, the app now says so The app used to turn a failure into a verdict on the recording: "no speech detected, there is no voice in the recording" - even when the voice was there and the other engine transcribed it. Now the app names the real reason.
  • The heavy model is not offered where it will not run On a phone with little memory, GigaAM is marked right in the list and cannot be selected - no need to download 305 MB for nothing. For such devices there is a light 74 MB model.
  • The app starts faster On a weak phone the app opens in eight seconds instead of twelve; on an ordinary one, in three instead of eight.
  • Payments are ready for RuStore's move to new certificates The store is moving payments to new infrastructure; the app has been updated in advance so that buying Pro keeps working.

Version 1.0.252

24 August 2026

A trial period at the tap of a button, sorting out the library, and honest hints.

  • You start the Pro trial yourself The "Pro features" window now has a "Start free - 3 days" button: the countdown starts when you tap it, not from the first launch of the app. No card is needed and nothing is charged. Trial periods started before 7 September 2026 keep their original seven days.
  • Sorted recordings leave "Not sorted yet" If transcription has confirmed that there is no speech in a recording, the recording moves to the "No speech" section and no longer hangs among the unsorted ones. The result is kept after a restart, too.
  • From "Text" and "Analysis" you can go to the recording Every row now has a microphone button: it opens the "Recordings" tab and expands the card you need - with the player, the text and the actions.
  • The counter counts what you see With a filter on, "24 / 31" appears above the list - how many recordings out of the whole library are shown.
  • "Sound analysis unavailable" no longer blames the phone If the analysis is missing the word timings, the app says exactly that: transcribe the recording again and the timings will appear.
  • The help has been checked against the app Playback speed cycles through 1x - 1.25x - 1.5x - 2x - 0.75x; the filter badges on cards, the "What's inside" and "No tags" sections and the tabs at the bottom of the screen are all described.

Version 1.0.247

21 August 2026

Transcribing your own recordings, birds, and installing on new phones.

  • Your own recordings are transcribed again On Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO and related phones the audio frame headers ended up shifted inside the file, and recognition silently answered "no sound" for every recording made by the app. For the same reason the detailed waveform was not computed and "Enhance sound" did not work.
  • The app installs on new phones Galaxy S24/S25 and other devices on recent Snapdragon chips answered "not supported by your device". Now a single file with both architectures goes to the store, and on a 64-bit phone the app runs as 64-bit - faster and without out-of-memory crashes.
  • Birds: 578 species are back The jackdaw, the dotterel, the northern goshawk and others were not shown because of a change of genus in taxonomy. At the same time, a random rustle no longer gets reported as a bird, barking in the yard is heard again, and a rooster is no longer confused with a dog.
  • Sorting out several recordings at once Select the recordings and start them with one button - speech recordings and ones already sorted are skipped, "Stop" works instantly, and a stuck recording does not hold up the rest. During a batch transcription you can see what it is working on, and the report is honest: "0 transcribed, 20 with no speech" instead of "20 failed".
  • New filters in the library Tap "Text" or "Sound" on a card - it will show recordings of the same kind. The menu now has a "What's inside" section and a "No tags" item. The search field is pinned above the list and does not run away as you scroll.
  • The waveform of a two-hour recording is computed in seconds Instead of a seven-minute wait. Broken files no longer end up in the library, and a recording is not lost if the phone runs out of space.
  • Tablets and large screens Rotating no longer resets the open screen, the bird-watching area picker no longer hides under the keyboard, and the "?" button adapts to the window size.
  • Backup on Yandex Disk Turning encryption off no longer locks you out of the backup: the code is shown one last time, and then the app offers to upload everything again unencrypted. The automatic backup no longer stays silent when access has been revoked.

Version 1.0.219

16 August 2026

A recording that survives a phone failure.

  • A recording survives the app being killed The file used to be written out only on "Stop": if the system ran out of memory, the card was swiped away or the phone died, an hour of a lecture disappeared without a word. Now audio is written to disk as it records, and a recording that was started but never stopped is picked up on the next launch and appears in the library with its original date.
  • A recording in progress is not kept in the cache The cache is the first thing Android clears without asking when space runs low, including in the middle of a recording. The file has moved to the app's own storage.
  • A failure mid-recording does not take the whole recording with it If space runs out or another app takes the microphone, the recording stops and is saved instead of carrying on drawing a waveform that goes nowhere.
  • The library is not lost If the list of recordings could not be read, saving no longer overwrites it with an empty one: the edits wait in a queue and are merged in once the read succeeds.
  • Transcription has stopped crashing the app A partly downloaded model is no longer treated as ready, and an engine failure is handled instead of crashing out of the blue.

Version 1.0.205

August 2026

Louder recording, a full-screen player and order in the list.

  • Recording is louder and cleaner The app takes as much from the microphone as the phone's built-in voice recorder does: on the same device recordings came out 13 dB louder, with less hiss in the high frequencies. The settings now offer a choice of quality, and the "Enhance sound" button makes a clean copy for listening - the original stays untouched.
  • A full-screen player and trimming that spoils nothing The waveform moves under the cursor, what you have listened to fades, and you scrub with a finger. Trimming saves the cut piece as a copy: the original recording stays where it is, and transcription and bird identification still work on it.
  • A recording is sorted right after you stop it You can give it a name, put it in a folder, add a tag and a note - while you still remember what it is about. Finding it later is much easier: search understands both the tag and the date.
  • The list got the whole screen Folders and tags have moved to the side menu, sections collapse, and the order is set with three buttons - date, length, name. Active filters are shown in a row above the list, and that is where you clear them.
  • Four buttons on a card instead of thirteen The ones left are those this particular recording needs; the rest are behind "More", where every action has a name.
  • Cats, dogs and birds are recognized more reliably Bird species are matched to the area you set. The app treats meowing and barking as a joke and says outright that it is joking. And it no longer mistakes a baby crying for meowing.
Updates come from the store. If the app was installed from RuStore, the new version will appear there, in the "Updates" section. A purchased Pro version is kept across updates and reinstalls - you can restore it with the "Restore purchase" button.
